Signs That My Mommy Has Gone Home

Posted in My Life, Friends & Family by n. mallory
  • Last night all of the animals slept with me again.  The cats, betrayers, had been sleeping downstairs with her.  Needy in particular has formed a particular bond with her over the last few trips and now spends most of her visits on her lap, which is good for him and her.
  • There was no coffee this morning.  I became so used to having her make it and have it ready for me that to my dismay I couldn’t figure out why there was no coffee when I was ready to start getting ready for the day. :(  I guess I’m going to have to start using one of those timers and set it up so it’s ready when I wake up.  She spoiled me.
  • I had to walk my own dog.  O.K.  I like walking my dog, but I had forgotten how much he likes to dawdle and how much this cuts into my warm shower time.
  • There wasn’t a real person to talk to this morning, just the animals.  They don’t actually talk back and they don’t remind me to grab my lunch or the financial papers I need to bring to show the loan broker.  However, they also don’t sit in silent judgement of my not making my bed.
  • I fell asleep on the sofa last night and in a weird position.  My Mom would not have let me do that.  She would have made me take my medicine and go to bed.
  • I loved having my Mommy here; I wanted to ask her to stay particularly after the ER trip, but I know she has to get back to her life.

Why It’s Horrible Being So Far From My Mommy

Posted in My Life, Friends & Family, Wellness by n. mallory

I have to go in for an Upper Endo when I come back from vacation.  I’m scheduled for that Friday afternoon as soon as I come back.  Just thinking about it makes me want to gag.

Anyway, apparently, I can’t just go and have the procedure and go home.  They apparently drug you up good and they require you to not drive afterward and insist that you leave with a responsible person.  They wouldn’t let me take a taxi home either.

I had to go wandering around trying to find a co-worker who could drive me home after the procedure.

It’s not like when I was working with Red and she and I were like family, you know?  I just don’t have that kind of relationship with anyone here.  In fact, I don’t have that kind of relationship with anyone up here really.  I suppose I could have called Sunny.  I think she might have done it, but then I hate bothering people too, particularly in the middle of the day.

This is really kind of a Mommy thing.  My mommy is supposed to be here for this kind of stuffy, you know?

My mommy took care of me after my colonoscopy, or so I vaguely remember.  She basically took me there and then sat with me after until they said I could go home and took me home and put me to bed.  I’d ask her to fly out but it’s really not serious enough for that kind of expense.  I mean maybe if they were removing a body part rather than just sticking a cable down my throat.

Well, at least this time I know my house will be clean when I get home…though maybe I should hire the little pug-stalker girl to come walk Pugly while I’m knocked out on the drugs afterwards.
