- Wow, halfway through January already?
- I’m feeling slightly better, just some residual pain in my back and right side but not feeling like I’m splitting in half anymore.
- Pugly is acting very odd lately. I’ve been having to carry him to the car every morning to go to doggy daycare and sometimes I have to catch him to put the leash on him to go outside. Then there’s the weird matter of him not wanting to jump down from the car when we get home. Very strange little dog.
- I’ve been watching HBO’s Rome and I just love love love it. I love the two guys who always seem to be in the right or wrong place and inadvertently cause history to happen.
- I’m reluctantly switching from bottled water to Brita filtered water to save money at home. As long as it’s not tap water, right?
It’s a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what’s in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it’s amazing
– “It’s a Jungle Out There”, Monk Theme Song lyrics
- I bought Seventh Generation dish soap, which I think is supposed to be biodegradable. At the very least it’s better for the environment that Joy, which is what I was using. I also bought an organic green tea hair conditioner. I couldn’t find the reusable grocery bags, but I’m thinking about making my own.
- I’ve been trying to find a sample Square Foot Veggie garden online for one adult that I could modify to my own liking. I just like seeing examples of what other people have done.
- I guess I’m going to have to create a gardening category.
- I knitted all day on Saturday on a dishcloth but I have nothing to show for it because I pulled it all out. No matter how careful I counted or what I did, by the time I got to the 12th row, I had an extra stitch and couldn’t figure out where it happened. So I pulled it all out. It’s one of those complicated patterns that is different on every row — you know, K5 P2 (K6 P2) repeat 4 times K5 P1 K2 and then the next row is something else and then like on row 12 you repeat rows 6 through 10. Oy. The scarf was all knit stitches and it took me how many months to do?
- I’m feeling uninspired to take a photo today.

- I’m feeling incredibly grumpy today.
- I don’t have any clue why so don’t ask.
- Apparently my GP was supposed to order some follow-up lab work after the ER visit.
- Obviously they didn’t.
- I have way too much to do around the house and I just haven’t been doing any of it.
- I picked up a “Tofurkey Feast” dinner for 8 at Wild Oats for Christmas Dinner.
- I can’t decide if I’m excited about it or not.
- Though “Tofurkey” is kind of fun to say and my dog looks at me funny when I say it.
- I keep forgetting I have fresh raspberries in the fridge.
- Pugly was not happy about wearing his Christmas hat to doggy daycare this morning.
- I’m very sad that PW hasn’t returned my emails.
- I’ve been feeling particularly lonely lately.
- It’s probably just the holidays.

- I cannot seem to keep my eyes open today. I’m doing that head bob thing.
I’ve got to buy a bathing suit by next Tuesday when I start Water Physical Therapy. Apparently, it’s required.
- Do I have $1.20 in pennies to get me through 2 more trips through the I-95 toll?
- When will my new toll tag come?
- Those people behind me at the exact change toll were pissed this morning.
- I couldn’t find my mittens this morning when I went to walk Pugly; the outside thermostat said it was 19°F.
I think I’m going to buy a Werner ladder on Home Depot’s “pay nothing until Jan ‘08″ deal. It’s like the Little Giant with all it’s bendiness and extentionabity but cheaper and then there’s the “pay nothing until Jan ‘08″. I think I even have a 10% off coupon I can use which will put the cost under $400.
- For some reason, my bank account has stopped being downloadable by Quicken in the last few weeks.
- I’ve got to figure out how to add a house as an asset in Quicken.
- The picture window finally got replaced this morning; again, it was only 19°F and that was seeping into my living room in a big way, but at least Pugly got a work-out barking and running after the glass guy.
- After charging me an early termination fee, the apartment complex kept my deposit, pet deposit, and all of those monthly pet rent bills and then sent me a bill for $600 to replace the carpet for a stain from a Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. I loved living there, but I won’t recommend them or their parent company after I was such a good, quiet tenant, followed all the rules, and I tried to do the right thing and they nickeled and dimed me.
- Pugly loves the new picture window in the the new house; he can bark at the whole neighborhood.
- I wish I could remember if I closed my garage this morning.
- I tried some fake “chicken” nuggets by Morning Star last night. They weren’t “Wendy’s good” but they weren’t “McDonald’s bad”. With BBQ sauce, they’re o.k. for the occasional running behind meal.

- I am so behind on my packing.
- Pugly is getting a bath today at doggy daycare. He so needed it.
- Rain, rain, go away.
- Thank God, my new house has a garage. I am so over getting soaked coming out of my house to get into the car in the morning.
- I wish this Wordpress Amazon Wishlist would let me set up two wishlists on this site so I could display my wishlist for the house as well as my personal one.
Supernatural is so much better this season than last season. They’ve got better writers, better storylines, better supporting cast, better special effects. It just doesn’t seem so hokey this season. I was upset when the WB went away but obviously the CW has been good for the show. It has an edge to it now that it definitely didn’t have last season.
- I have got to get everything packed up and I guess I have to stop being so organized about it. That’s what’s slowing me down. Moving is supposed to be chaos, I guess.
- Damn, I’m sleepy.

My brain is way too scattered and full of anxiety to focus on one particular nifty topic this week. So, now you get to see the really true discombobulated, highly anxious me.

- What if the sale on the little red house falls through and I don’t get it?
What if the sale on the little red house doesn’t fall through and I do get it and it turns into a money pit?
- What if those nice flippers are taking advantage of me because I’m a naive first time buyer and I don’t know what I’m doing?
- What if my dog is depressed? He’s been lethargic and hasn’t been eating at home, but the doggie daycare folks say he’s hyper and playful there. Maybe he just hates me.

- Happy Conspiracy Day! Friday the 13th — unluckiest day for the Templars ever, I think.
- I’m having my CT Scan (with contrast) of the lung shortly. The machine at the clinic I was supposed to have it in is “down” so they’ve called and asked me to go to the “Big House” (the main hospital) instead.
- It wasn’t so bad without the contrast, but I’m admittedly nervous after all the talk about possibly shutting down my kidneys.
- I wish I’d brought my lorazepam today.
- I wonder if binding my hands and elbows with Ace bandages would help reduce the pain. Ice cold seems to help.
- Pugly wants to chew on the ends of my knitting needles while I’m knitting and the cats want to play with the yarn — finally a hobby we can all participate in.

- Thanks to the change in the weather, everything hurts.
- I can’t even take any alleve, advil or asprin (even if I took asprin) for the inflamation of the finger because of the upcoming kidney biopsy.
- My popup windows are screwed up on my home laptop so that when my “insert a link” window opens for wordpress, it’s less than an inch wide and is not resizeable and I can’t see what I’m typing in the url field.
- Don’t forget to stop by Brony’s 100th post and be one of her 100th commenters.
- I made pizza casserole over the weekend. Yum. I’m still finishing up leftovers thought…the problem with being single…or is it the blessing?
Last weekend I numbed my brain with Memoirs of a Geisha (excellent), Kingdom of Heaven (not so good), X-Men: Last Stand (disappointing), and Domino (eh). Fortunately, Netflix has already delivered the next set of movies.
- I also got all caught up on Sci-Fi’s series Eureka, which I will definitely be buying the DVDs for. Very cute series…Northern Exposure meets Area 51.
- There’s been too much talk about Folley in the news as Saturday night I dreamt I was trying to stop a child predator in a grocery store and a mother wouldn’t heed my warning, but when her kid got molested she was angry at me for not stopping it.
- I know I haven’t been discussing the world’s problems as much on here lately. I’ve still be following them…but with my own health crisis, Pugly’s kennel cough, and my recent troubles with friends, I just want to write about other things for a bit.
- In fact, if anyone is interested in starting some sort of coffee club, knitting coven, or just getting-together-to-get-away-from-stuff club in the Portland, ME area…let me know.
- I’m really starting to dig knitting. I’m wondering where everyone buys their supplies online and what the best needles are and what sort of gadgets I should be buying.
- I finally got everything sorted with my Amazon Rewards Credit Card. I got all of the gift certificates they owed me since February…I just spent $225…it’s going to be like an early Christmas next week. I bought lots of little stuff — movies, cookbooks, and books rather than one or two big things. I need to go clean off my Amazon wish list now, I guess.

- My parents are visiting.
- I love them very much.
- My father is just a tad bit too set in his ways.
- Since he’s arrived, I’ve had to remove the closed caption from my tv, which means that I only get about half of what’s said on the shows.
- We all have to find seating in the living room depending on where he wants to sit, even if someone is already in that seat.
- He has a real “issue” with the way I’ve set up my lighting in the living room. (This was a serious point of contention on the last visit.)
- They’ve decided that I need to buy a house and they won’t let the subject drop. It’s just depressing the hell out of me because I don’t have the money to put down on a house, I don’t know how anyone ever saves enough money to put 10% or 20% down on a house in Maine, and all of the houses I could afford if I had savings and and made payments equivalent to my apartment rent would be smaller than my apartment, which is not what I want at all. The dream is to have more space, right? At the very least 1500 sq. ft., preferably 1800 sq. ft. With a little garden? A bigger kitchen? Somewhere to actually have a kitchen/dining table? *sigh*
- They’ve really been very helpful during their stay and I’m grateful — my mom actually got down on her hands and knees and cleaned some spots in my carpets that I had trouble with and my dad fixed my outside light and tightened up my entertainment center, adding a few more months’ life to it. Plus, Mom made her famous stroganoff and spaghetti the first two nights.
- Retirement has made them slow to go anywhere. This makes me cranky.
- My routine has been thrown way off.
- My kitchen and living room are extremely cluttered and I never realized how much clutter bothers me when it isn’t mine.
- I am quite sure that they aren’t listening when I tell them things.
- I have told my father twice that I want to take him out to dinner at Outback (his favorite place and my least favorite) for an early birthday dinner while he’s here. Today when I asked which night he wanted to go, he grumbled, “I can go to Outback back home.” — He was using the tone he uses when he’s tired of spending money on going out to eat. (Mind you, I’ve caught a couple of meals and we’ve eaten in a couple of nights.)
- I have explained how to use the remote control for the cable several times every day since they’ve arrived to each of them. Last night, after I explained it again to him, I caught him actually berating my mother for not understanding how to use it yet. When I tried to point out that I had just explained the same thing to him, he got pissy.
- I told my parents multiple times that I’ve trained Pugly not to jump out of the car, but when my dad and my uncle took Pugly with them on their day out, my dad couldn’t understand why Pugly wouldn’t get out of the car and left him in there. Then when he told me this, my mother pointed out that he’d been told that and he insisted he hadn’t. *sigh*
- I love my parents.
- They are very quirky.

- Pugly loves that credit theft commercial where the woman voice-over sings “Unbreak My Heart” really badly. He stops whatever he’s doing every single time to watch it.
- I have been avoiding the Katrina anniversary coverage because emotionally I don’t think I could handle it this week.
- I could use a raise.
- I still haven’t found a maid.
- I really need an assistant too. I’ve become really bad at remembering to do things again.
- I just ate an orange. I’m sure it was delicious, but I have no tastebuds.
- No more Puppy Playgroup for Pugly; he turns 6 months today and now he’s too old. We’ll both miss it.
O.K. You’re turn. Add whatever discombobulated thoughts you might have into the comments area. Obviously they don’t have to make sense — they’re discombobulated.

- Pugly is losing his baby teeth.
- Pugly is starting to learn the S-I-T command finally.
- I have a UTI and it has triggered just about everything else that’s wrong with me to go haywire; I tried to self-medicate with cranberry juice and vitamins for several weeks. I don’t believe the doctor that one dose of 3 days of Bactrim or whatever it is will solve the problem.
- I watched Who Wants To Be A Superhero? or whatever it’s called last night. I was amused by the fact that one of the guys who got kicked off became a Supervillain. I hope Fat Mama wins.
- I have definitely decided to home cook for my pets.
- I really need to mail my Netflix movies back.

- For some reason, I keep writing 2007 on my checks.
- If you’ve never read the side of a vitaminwater bottle, it’s worth standing in the store to do so. At the very least you’ll get a good chuckle.
- If you’ve never tried vitaminwater, it’s worth the extra pennies to buy a bottle. No aftertaste, all natuaral, plus vitamins and water.
- Low-fat vanilla soy milk just isn’t right in Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
I watched the first two discs of Firefly again over the weekend. I forgot how fun they talk.
- I don’t know why but my left eye seems to be twitching all the friggin’ time now. I’m just glad that no one can see it twitching.
- My house is a disaster. I really need to get off of my butt and get it cleaned.

- My left eye is twitching. How can you stop an eye from twitching?
- I need to go buy more Yankee Candle oil refills. I blame the personal organizer for this addiction.
- Apparently though none of the books mentioned it, Pugs are notorious Drama Queens. This is according to the vet. I thought it was just my puppy, but apparently it’s the whole breed that overreacts to every little thing.
- I am so going to fall asleep at my desk before the end of the day today.
- It is a bad idea to make Mac & Cheese when the box says “Best Used by Aug 2004″ and it’s May 2006. This is my public service announcement of the day.
- I need to do laundry, dishes, clean a litterbox and take a nap, not to mention go home and take care of all the puppy needs. I really need a nap.

- Happy Conspiracy Day!
- Pugly did so good at puppy playgroup on Sunday. He’s still pupp-shy but he was well-behaved and he made a little effort to make friends with the less agressive dogs.
- The vet told me today that Pugly has a heart murmur. On a scale of 1-6, it’s a 1, but by his age it should have gone away. If it doesn’t go away in a month or gets worse, we may have to look into doing an Echocardiogram and discuss the options of what his future health issues might be. This is very upsetting. He seems fine when he’s terrorizing my apartment like a Tasmanian Devil.
I have started reading How Would a Patriot Act? Defending American Values from a President Run Amok but haven’t gotten very far in yet due to puppy constraints but I like the fact that Greenwald is a Constitutional lawyer and neither a liberal nor a conservative. A lot of what he said in the preface is how I felt before 1999 as well. I think this will be an excellent read for anyone.
- The mailman did not come to my mailbox yesterday. I know this because he did not pick up my outgoing mail. That’s just one more day that Cassanova won’t get back to Netflix so I can get something hopefully better.
- Pugly has discovered his tail and spends quite a bit of time chasing it.
- I really wish I could find out if I need some sort of converter for my laptop to plug into outlets over in England. Why can’t I find practical information out there on the web?

I think Pugly is part Tasmanian Devil. I would like to know how to get him to stop trying to chew and rip up my blanket, my clothes, my plastic bags, my bathmat and everything else. I also found puppy teeth marks on my laptop cord, which I have now treated with a bitter spray. We’ll see how that works. I also want him to stop nipping at and chewing on me. “No!” and “Ow!” don’t appear to work.
- My legs just keep hurting. I could not get them comfortable last night at all. They seem to hurt all of the time, like I’ve walked miles and miles without stretching first. The doctors don’t seem to pay attention to me when I mention it.
I’m also sore in my upper body this weekend too. I think/hope that has to do with carrying Pugly up and down the stairs and trying to hold him off at 3am when he goes all Tasmanian Devil on me.
- I really need to find other friends. N2 is really getting on my last nerve. I can’t stand a person who tells me to let her know when something is wrong and then gets pissed when I do and doesn’t appologize when I’m right and she was treating me wrong.
- I really want some Pad Thai or good Chinese food.

I ordered a lime green pet carrier from PetEdge.com for Pugly that looks like a purse. We are going to be so styling going around town now.
I hope it arrives today because tomorrow he’s going with me to visit the gals at the beauty parlor/spa while I get my hair done and I know he doesn’t like his regular carrier. (I also ordered him an exercise pen for outside since I don’t have a yard.)
- I’ve had a low grade migraine most of the week that nothing has helped to reduce the pain of.
- Happy Cinco De Mayo! I was going to make Tamale Pot Pie, but I think I’m just going with the usual traditional Friday Chinese take-out.
I’ll make Tamale Pot Pie tomorrow. (see the comment about the migraine above.)
- I’ve got to pick up around my apartment. Sunny’s coming tomorrow and with Pugly around, I kind of let a few things backslide this week. I really want to get a Bissell Spotlifter too. I have the cheapest Bissell spot cleaner and it’s o.k. but I’d like the one in the commercial where the woman talks about the mystery stains and how she just leaves it to do it’s work and comes back. Actually, I’d like an upright. I’m forever spilling Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, which it turns out is a red soda. (Am accepting suggestions on how to get this out of light tan carpet)
Netflix sent me Brokeback Mountain (Widescreen Edition), Casanova, and Price of Milk (Ws) this week. It’s going to be a weird movie weekend.
- Oh, and surprisingly, The Naked Truth got mentioned on The Hotline Blogometer yesterday. I had no idea anyone but like ten of you were stopping by.
- I really would like to find a spellcheck function that works with Wordpress 2.02.
- I’m sorry that there’s been a couple of disruptions with my server (Libby) on my new webhost the last couple of days. Not my fault and nothing as bad as the old host.
- I like the look of this new theme “Almost Spring” by Beccary, though I am still trying to add a few finishing touches of my own. You know me, always fiddling.

- Doctors and nurses make the worst patients and my mother is right up there. She insists that her ankle can’t possibly be broken because it doesn’t hurt “that bad” and refuses to stay off her feet like she’s been told to. She honestly believes the doctor is wrong.
- My only surviving grandmother has taken a turn for the worse and is now refusing to socialize with anyone and has lost 20 lbs.
- I think I forgot to take my meds this morning.
- I’m sleepy and I’ve had bad insomnia for over a week.
- My co-workers are being overly loud and annoying today.
- I feel fat.
- I have way too much to do this week.

- It’s official. I am now seriously looking for a new web host. I know I’ve said it before, but since I’m now paying boo-goo bucks for a dedicated server and my server goes down once a week for hours at a time and I’m losing important family emails and other vital things. Anyone heard of A Small Orange or Jumpline?
- I probably shouldn’t have moved the piano on my own last Sunday. It didn’t occur to me until yesterday when I couldn’t figure out why my neck and right wrist were bothering me so badly.
- I’ve been craving Eggs Bennedict all week.
- Pugly looked so cute last night.
- Is it me or are there just not as many Raviolis in the can anymore?
- The new White Cheddar Doritos are the best. I’ll never eat the regulars again.
- My current pants are way too big but the next size down are still too tight.

- I haven’t done these in a while.
- I really like Crest’s new Lemon Ice flavor.
- Zicam Oral Mist tastes like what I image camel piss must taste like.
- Can’t wait to visit Pugly tomorrow.
- I think N2 is avoiding me. Probably just being paranoid.
- Overslept this morning.
- Seriously need to get my house cleaned.
- I haven’t checked my mail box in 3 days.
- Fresh sheets on the bed are always lovely.
- I still wish I had Karen Carpenter’s singing voice.
- I definitely think there should be some sort of Life Coach/care-givers kind of person for depressives — rent-a-mom without the psychological guilt factor bult in.

I appologize for seemingly abandoning this blog. The truth is that I’ve been distracted by more than a few things in my life:
- My grandmother’s death, as you know, took me somewhat by surprise and has caused me to do a lot of self-inspecting. Plus, I want to be there for my mother who I think took it a lot harder than me. Plus, the planning for the memorial service the weekend before Valentine’s Day in Florida.
