Well, the Wordpress DB is upgraded to 2.1.3 and the plugin directory has been cleaned up. There are a lot less plugins in use now. My Flickr plugin stopped working so I need to figure another way to show off my new hobby.
I started redesigning the look of the site a little too. That should be evident in the new headers, which are all fractions of photos I’ve taken. I’ll be adding more and switching out some as I get bored. I’m working on a new color scheme, something a little more Spring/Summer-like.
I’ll be

I’m just wanted to say I am planning on coming back on a more regular-like basis. I have a whole lot of opinions and things to work through.
However, behind the scenes here, the blog is a few versions behind and some of the scripts and plugins seem to not be working correctly anymore. So, I’m giving in and doing the upgrade to the latest version ofWordpress and as a result, dumping a lot of plugins because they don’t work with the new and improved Wordpress, and as a result, redesigning the blog — hopefully this will lead to

I’ve been toying with the sidebar for a few days. Let me know if it’s easier or harder to find things.
- Put all the pages into a drop-down menu so they take up less space.
- Moved the blog description to the top.
- Moved all the drop-down menus (category, archive, and page selections) to just below the search box at the top so they are all in one place.
- Added a button to add this blog to your technorati favorites as well as a button linking this website to project 365!.
- I moved around some of the “flair” so that it actually fit

I just added 3 recipes to The Weekend Chef, which reminded me that the site needs an overdue upgrade and that the email notification there has stopped working.
Anyway, if you’re on the notify list or you’re interested:

I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to read an interesting blog entry and want to comment or join in an on-going comment discussion only to find that you can only comment if you have a Blogger, Google, or Yahoo 360° account. (The worst ones are even more obscure or require registration with the website.)
The absolute last thing I want to do is sign up yet another account where I’m going to have to remember yet another sign-on name and password — because likely my usual sign-on has already been taken and it’s not a good idea to

Call me paranoid but I’ve suddenly been getting a huge number of subscriptions to the site lately using the email notification plugin for Wordpress. That always makes me wonder if the little hacker-types think they’ve figured out how to use the function to do something nasty, though I have no idea what. All of the emails look similar and are yahoo-types.
So, I apologize for the inconvenience for those of you who legitimately had previously subscribed but I have deactivated that plugin, which was old and hadn’t been updated in over a year, and replaced it with Subscribe2. To

Did some blog-related house-cleaning today.
Media Girl stopped by and dropped me a note to let me know that some script running on my site was breaking her mouse scroll button/bar. I tried it on Windows 2000 and Windows XP with Firefox and IE (bleh) and couldn’t recreate it. I’m not sure what OS she has or what browser. I’ll drop her a line later, but programmer that I am, I did some code digging and decided that it had to be the script I got from dynamic drive to fold my links menu in my side

O.K. I’ve been sprucing things up around here…or I’ve been trying to. I’d like your comments and suggestions about what I’ve done and what you’d like to see or what you think I should fix.
I’ve been adding nifty little icons to match with categories. Obviously since most of my posts have multiple categories, I try to pick a primary category icon for each post. I also haven’t found icons for all of the categories yet either. I’m looking for royalty free photos I can use and I don’t mind paying a nominal fee and here are the

Well, this new look isn’t exactly what I was looking for but when I saw this template, I knew it was me. I love the expression of the cat in the graphic. That’s what drew me to it.
I keep running across issues with the Wordpress 2.0.1 upgrade and the compatibility of the plugins. Some of my plugins still need to be upgraded to the latest versions themselves. Some are just plain getting deactivated I’m sad to say.

Now that I’ve got Wordpress upgraded, I realize that I’m tired of this theme. I still want the three columns with one column being the “Featured” column but I want somthing a little more calming and smooth looking.
I guess I’ll be looking around the web for ideas.

If you stopped by in the last 24 hours, you might have had issues actually getting to anything other than the first page of the website. Sorry about that. I didn’t realize until this morning that there were issues with the upgrade I did yesterday. That’ll teach me to test better in the future.
Anyway, if you are upgrading to Wordpress 2.0.1 and have the following plugins, they don’t play well and you really need to keep them deactivated:
- Adhesive
- Enhanced Post List
Just an FYI.

I don’t know how anyone finds good graphics to use on websites. I’ve tried searching through Google and A9.com and I’ve tried the whole Creative Commons thing but I never seem to find actual graphics using CC.
I have some cute ideas for graphics for a website I’m designing but as I am artistically challenged, I need to find something close or hire someone but I can’t find diddly squat.
*grrrr*

I installed these square smilies created by deepmojo. They’re kinda cool without the jagginess of the round ones I’d been using.

- There is nothing comparable to waking up to a freshly vacuumed carpet.
- I love my Dyson Animal.
- The dumb people are giving me serious headache issues.
- I have finally come to the understanding that all people only see and hear what they want whether it’s politics or work-related or television-related.
- I’d forgotten how tedious coding an entire website from scratch and by hand is. Why did I do that again? Am I getting credit for it? My boss better appreciate how hard it was to put together an intranet site about medicinal leeches…it’s not easy to make it look nice and

I just don’t get how Google is picking which ads to show on this sight. On the individual pages, it’s most often food/recipe related and I do not think I focus on those things here. I just don’t understand. I’ve tried reading their documentation and it implies that it creates the ads based on the content…again it doesn’t make sense.
For example, yesterday’s discombobulated thoughts have recipe ads. So does my post about the new look. My post about missing people just has a search box. Most of the others appear

I saw that Fishcakes had put out a pretty fifty “zine”-looking Wordpress theme and I couldn’t resist taking it and tweaking it.
I’m not sure quite yet if everything is working so I’ll be tweaking this and that as time goes on. Please let me know if you find anything really weird or if you really hate it or if you really love it. Also, if you know the artist of the mischievious fairies in my header, I’d love to know who it is.
Oh, here’s where you can get your original Zine theme.
[Update] I know that
