Totally agree with you about most of them, especially "Pulp Fiction," "Reservoir Dogs," and "South Park."

HOWEVER....

"Christmas Story" is one of my all-time faves. If you go ahead and watch it from the beginning, I don't think you can help but be captivated. It's charming and whimsical and funny and sweet.

It's been a long time since I've seen "Gone with the Wind," but I also like it very much. Some of the acting may seem a bit over-the-top today, but for the most part it holds up well.

As for "The Godfather"...I resisted watching it until just recently, when my kids (young adults) decided they wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I saw The Godfather and the Godfather II (still haven't made it to the last one). And believe me, I got what the fuss is about. Great acting, a powerful story, great film-making. I was blown away.

Oh, I love Jaws, Pulp Fiction & Resevoir Dogs... As for the rest... I've either seen them once & feel foolish for having done it, or have not seen it & don't plan on it... ever!

Unfortunately, I've seen quite a few of these, and you're right, not worth it!

Some of them were ones I watched with my husband while cross-stitching and I can't even remember what they're about...like Resorvior Dogs and Napolean Dynamite, I think.

Now, I am a big South park fan, but the movie isn't really that good. Way too much Terrence & Phillip & stupid obscenity instead of political irony and fun-making.

And Castaway is really good, but only the first time you watch it...it's not a movie you want to watch over and over or you'll find yourself carrying around a ball named Wilson ;-)

Great TT idea. I think I agree with you on most of them and you have very good reasons. However, The Godfather is a must see! Castaway is rather boring, so don't bother. And come on, you should see Jaws... I think I watched it as a kid with dad. He loved the movie and I did at the time. Now I don't really.

I have to say that Gone with the Wind did not live up to my expectations - I've watched it 3 times now, convinced that some day it would grab me but I remain unmoved... guess you had to be there... :)

Love the list. My thoughts:
1. You haven't missed a thing. I hated this movie.
2. Surprisingly, I really liked this one. Despite all the violence, at its base is the story of redemption.
3. Never saw it. Don't care to.
4. Loved it. Parker and Stone have moments of brilliance that keep me watching.
5. I really liked this one!
6.Never saw any of them. I don't care about mafia families.
7. Don't go there. Ever.
8. Skipped it.
9. Ditto.
10. The 1st was the scariest movie I've ever seen. The second was just about as good.
11. Didn't see this one either.
12. I was 17 when I saw this. I wouldn't sit on a toilet for two weeks, I was that afraid of water.
13. I know it's a universal favorite, but I've never been fond of this movie.

That's my 2 cents. Have a great weekend!

I saw some of Pulp Fiction. I didn't finish it. I think Quentin Tarantino is a jerk.

The movie, Gone With The Wind, holds a faint resemblence to the book. I liked the movie.

I don't like Quentin Tarantino and have no desire to see Pulp Fiction.

I had no interest in Resevoir Dogs either.

I heard Napoleon Dynamite wasn't that good and it was someone that has the same taste in movies that I do so I didn't bother with it.

Didn't like The Godfather so didn't bother with the rest in the series.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Clockwork Orange are ones that I haven't gotten around to seeing. Too many others I want to see more.

No interest in Fight Club.

I like the first three Alien movies. Aliens is the best though.

Didn't see Castaway 'cause I was going through Tom Hanks burnout when it came out.

Jaws, I can't remember much about it. I may revisit it sometime.

I was bored by Christmas Story.

Great list!

I have only seen two of these - Gone With the Wind (wasn't too impressed at the time, but I was in junior high, and probably wouldn't have been), and Fight Club - not /terribly/ strange, and I thought it was rather good. :) The others... I've had no desire to see. Ever. Oh wait. I have seen Napolean Dynamite. Don't. It's awful. A friend tells me I'd like Resevoir Dogs, but I haven't bothered to watch. :) Thanks for stopping by my TT earlier!
