Thursday Thirteen Movies I Like Despite Myself

We all have these movies. You know what they are. You’re flipping through the channels or the tv guide and there it is. It’s not an Emmy winner. It wasn’t even that great the first (hundred) time(s) you saw it. But you can’t help yourself. You’re drawn to it. Your fingers automatically work the remote control and the next thing you know, you’re sitting mesmerized on the futon with a Big Gulp in one hand and another hand stuffed in a half empty bag of Baked Doritos and the credits are rolling and you can’t remember how you got there…

These are thirteen of mine…

I’m a sucker on 3, 10 & 11. And Moulin Rouge. But I also stop on anything with Harrison Ford.

Anything John Hughes will do that to me: Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, etc.

I love Dogma and Rocky Horror, too.

    Happy TT!

I will stop for anything starring Kevin Spacey, Will Smith, Harrison Ford, and Johnny Depp. I will stop for these movies: Blind Fury, any Mad Max movie, The Shawshank Redemption, any James Bond movie,
and *shocked gasp* Point Break. I don’t know what it is about that movie, but yeah, I’ll stop and watch it, until I get caught and then I pretend that I got distracted and forgot it was on that channel. LOL! Ta for now dahling!

#2–especially Edward Scissorhands, the Ninja Turtles, Dogma, Dead Poet’s Society, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and all the old Corey Haim/Feldman movies!

    Great list!!! Happy TT

Josie and the Pussycats is great because not only is it a cheesy movie with bad costumes, a predictable plot, and rockstar main characters but it’s a conspiracy movie about subliminal messages too!

    Pink is the new orange.
Heath Ledger is the new Matt Damon.
Diet Coke is the new Diet Pepsi.

I totally agree with 1,2, & 13, plus I would add virtually every bad zombie movie. I just can’t help it.

Amen to #1…he is dreamy, even if every character he plays is pretty much the same!

LaShawn - Well, yes, he has that special way of bringing himself to every movie he does. ;)

Actually, I think he did a supurb job in Runaway Jury of almost not being totally himself. LOL

I loved him in American Sweethearts almost mocking himself.

Oh I like most of these too, but RHPS is the greatest movie of all time. My 6 year old even knows the music from that movie, though I haven’t let him watch it yet, not quite old enough. “Let’s Do The Time Warp Again…..”
