Many places will view them as drugs if they are not in the container they came in. As a frequent traveler, here are a few tips. Keep your Passport with you at all times and do not leave it where it can be stolen. When you arrive get the address and directions to the American Embassy. Do not carry bags with markings that are particularly American or single you out as an American, they make you a target. Take immodium(provided there is no reason you should not take it) or buy it when you get there in case the water does not agree with you. Travel around with other people and establish meeting places in the event you get separated (like one of you misses the tube or it is too full). They speak English but it is sometimes hard too understand so be patient. Things are twice as expensive as here so take what you need that will last (toothpaste, shampoo, soap, girly things etc.) Most importantly, be conscious of your surroundings. Do not get so caught up that you are not aware of what is around you. You can have a good time but you will not be in Kansas any more Toto. Hope this was helpful and I hope you enjoy your stay. That way only one day's worth of medicine is involved. If I had to carry all of the original pill bottles for everything I take every day everywhere I go...I'd need more than that pint-sized backpack. :P But see, I also carry with me the note that says what my medical condition is and what medication I'm taking to back it up.
