Glad to see you posting. I was getting the quotes so figured you were just busy. Sorry to hear you have been sick! Ugh, the weather has been awful here in Michigan too, but the sun is coming out this weekend, supposedly.

Brokeback is one of my new fave movies of all time, although I still haven't watched my DVD as I know it will be a cryfest. I don't really care about the hype, but I loved this movie beyond all reason, and especially the performances of Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams.

Hope things look up, and that you can get the demon spawn puppy outside soon!

It's been slightly frustrating because psychopuppy is on doggy speed or something and there were two good specials on the History Channel this week on the Templars and the Freemasons that I didn't get on tape. :( I really must start taping everything I want to watch just in case. Strangely he was well behaved for Dog the Bounty Hunter.

As for Brokeback, I think they should have made it more of a love triangle personally. I did think Heath Leger did a good job, probably one of his best preformances really. I guess I was expecting more because my friend read the short story and told me about it and she was really hyped on the short story and maybe that made a difference.

Ah, I didn't read the story until after I had seen the film, and it was excellent. However, I marveled at the way in which the screenwriters actually fleshed out the characters and embellished the story in a way that stayed true to the source material.

It made me realize that fiction into film works much better when the source is a short story or novella, rather than a novel, especially a lengthy one. It's so hard to pare a story down and still satisfy, whereas when you can add a few things and retain the essence of the original, the film can truly sing.

Hee, we still keep the kittens in a separate room from our cat most of the time, and especially when something is on that needs our full attention (like this week's ep of "Lost" -- and next week's two-hour finale, for sure!). Funny that he liked "Dog" -- my sister raves about that show!

It's amazing how much publicity Brokeback Mountain got because of the male relationships in it.
