Not having a blog except a blogger site with no posts and a poorly updated Live Journal, I can’t exactly relate. But I can understand why it bugs you. I will say that I send my Hub links to your site from time to time, but I don’t know that he reads it regularly or forwards them on.

I guess my gut reaction is that it’s not personal. It takes time for people to get to know you, and that type of thing. But it could also be cliquey (I think the Internet gets stuck at a high school level for that kind of thing because people sometimes tend to be more brutal when they don’t know the other people personally). Who knows?

I hope you can break through somehow. I’ll keep thinking about it…

What I find most amusing is that I am most welcome in conversations on blogs that are hosted by conservative bloggers, usually very right-wingy types like Big Dog. I find it odd that the party that claims to be the most open-minded seems to have some snobby bloggers.

That is odd. Who knows! Maybe Big Dog and his cohorts are happy to have you because they hope to sway you to their point of view? Heh.

I believe there are snobby bloggers of all political — and other — persuasions. Naughty snobby snobs!

Just because someone doesn’t acknowledge your comment does NOT mean they didn’t read it and enjoy it.

There seems to be an ongoing debate about whether you answer each comment by email, or in the comments, or at all.
I used to answer by email…when I used blogger comments they all ended up in my email so it was easy to just reply.

Now I occasionally answer in comments, but not always. I’m guessing there are many others like me…we have busy busy lives with jobs and children and such and don’t have time to answer.

But most people DO read all the comments. And most people (unless they’re the super-dee-duper popular ones) will at least give you a return visit.

I don’t necessarily mean that each and every comment has to be answered but in the particular cases I’m speaking of, usually there are active conversations going where people are posting back and forth within seconds. Kind of like a bunch of people hanging out at the water cooler. Repeatedly I’ve found that when I’ve tried to contribute on several of these sites in more than one conversation, I don’t get responses. It’s as if I never spoke. I just find it odd and annoying and it’s the same sites.

Actually, it reminds me of when I was visiting colleges. I went to visit LSU — back when I was living in Louisiana. They were kind of rude to me. Kind of like they assumed I was going there. They were gushing all over some out of state visitor who was there that day, maybe someone with richer parents.

Then I went to visit Alabama and I was the out of state student and I got all of the fanfair.

Well, I went to Alabama and I have to say that how they treated me did come into the decision-making.

I’m just saying that it doesn’t take much to recognize the “new girl.” I’d have even have accept a “that’s stupid”.

BTW, aka_monty, I like your web design. Is it a blogger standard or did someone do it for you?

I wish more people would comment on my blog. I read every single one I get and jump in on the conversation as appropriate. I do know what you mean, tho — a ton of comments, and everyone else gets acknowledged but me. It makes you feel unwanted. One of my favorite bloggers is A Day in the Night of a Stripper. She makes an effort to respond to every single person’s comment. That means a lot.
