Kidnapped Journalist Returns Home
I haven’t written about this because quite frankly I didn’t want to jinx anything. I know that sounds kind of weird but I’ve been quietly praying for Jill Carroll and keeping an eye and ear on her story. It’s alway upsetting to hear about people being taken hostage, but it’s even more so when the person is a woman, in my opinion. Women are almost always victimized in such worse ways than men simply because they’re women.
So, when she was released last week, I kind of held my tongue and fingers even as bloggers left and right went mad with the posting and reporters and journalists went wild with the opinionizing about her possible state of mind. Yesterday she made it back to the U.S. and was reunited with her family and it seems to me that her healing process is going to be a long journey. Thank God she’s home. How dare anyone who hasn’t walked in her shoes or at least talked with her for a hour comment on her state of mind.
I think I’ll keep praying for her a little while longer.
