1. Showering together is one of the myriad acts of coupledom that is far more exciting in theory than in practice.

2. Basie was a girl.

3. While I gave birth to our son in the shampoo aisle at Target, my husband Ralph gazed admiringly at the bowling balls in sporting goods, wondering whether the boy would be a natural.

4. They told their parents that they were infertile; it was easier than admitting that there would be no grandchildren because they didn’t feel like it.

5. Songs danced in the trees, reminding Irene of the day her father left.</description>
