Need Your Input

Posted in Geekery, Blogging & Other Blogs, Web Design by n. mallory | .

O.K. I’ve been sprucing things up around here…or I’ve been trying to. I’d like your comments and suggestions about what I’ve done and what you’d like to see or what you think I should fix.

I’ve been adding nifty little icons to match with categories. Obviously since most of my posts have multiple categories, I try to pick a primary category icon for each post. I also haven’t found icons for all of the categories yet either. I’m looking for royalty free photos I can use and I don’t mind paying a nominal fee and here are the categories that still need to be represented somehow:

  • Interesting Trivia
  • Roleplaying
  • Clean Sweep
  • Friends & Family
  • Nose Piercing
  • Photos
  • The Cats
  • 9-11 & Terrorism
  • Iraq & Afghanistan

Also, I added my reading list in the sidebar thanks to the Now Reading plugin and swapped the navigation around. I don’t know if the navigation is easier to use this way or not. Let me know if something’s not easy to get to.

I found a wonderful iTunes Playlist plugin and have added my favorite ipod playlists into the “Appendices” section of the sidebar. Dunno if anyone is interested. At the very least, check out what the plugin can do.

I also added Brian’s Latest Comments there in the sidebar. Kind of a nifty way to show who’s commenting on what. It amazes me how many people come to this site looking for info on how to change their nose screw. I’m glad I can help. Who knew?

    interesting, but horrifying story.

so, it’s 12:00 at night and i go to blow my nose from a bad case of allergies. a thought came along– hmm, it would be smart to move my nose screw a little to help “it” flow more easily into the tissue– yeah, bad idea!!!!
i frantically tried putting it back in with no luck whatsoever. two weeks prior, i had gotten my nose pierced and never had i replaced or put another screw/ stud in. i had absolutely no clue how the heck to go about putting it in…. anyways– after a half hour, i was completely flabbergasted; so, i put in the closest and easiest thing i could find to stop my hole from closing up– an earring from the top of my ear. and yet again- bad idea!!! boy, did it hurt when i took it out.
i sat on the computer for another half hour searching for some instructions and unfortunately i couldn’t find anything on the internet. again, lucky me. i went back downstairs to try jamming my nose screw in again.
another half hour passed along and it just WOULDN’T go in. i went back upstairs for my last attempt to find a savior on the internet. finally, i stumbled on this site. it said, “…begin to turn clockwise until it easily slips in.” god, why hadn’t i thought of that before. no wonder it was called a nose SCREW– i just had to SCREW it in. i was treating it like a nose NAIL and trying to hammer it in.
well, after 2 hours of pulling my hair out- i got it in. MORAL OF STORY– don’t take it out unless you know how to put it back in!!
