Discombobulated Thoughts - 10/31/05

  • Turns out Needy is a candidate for Kitty Diabetes and Kitty Heart Disease. He’s over 15 lbs now. The doctor told me to put him on a diet and I told her that when I cut back on his food, he moves less. Crafty kitty. I tried to get him to play with one of those Cat Exercise Websites as SuzyQ says her cat goes wild over them, but I couldn’t get him to take an interest at all. I tried dragging string and throwing bell balls and homemade alumnimum balls but he just stares at it like he doesn’t have a clue. So, today I’m stopping at Petsmart to buy one of those laser pointer things. He’s just too much like me.
  • I met some of the local Nano’ers yesterday and it was really nice getting out and meeting new people for a change. Even if I did get lost. I’m particularly excited because some of them are actually gamers, GURPS players even! Makes me sort of wish I’d gotten involved last year, but probably I wasn’t emotionally ready last year. I’ll be going to the weekly write-ins this month so hopefully I’ll get to know them better and meet more folks. Yay for me!
  • Work is super busy and kind of stressful right at the moment. Take 3 drama queens and 1 ex-diva and stick them in a small room with a meek vendor/trainer person and shake well…seriously, I feel like I’m backstage of a beauty pageant with all the cat fights. There’s nitpicky niggling over every little detail and arguing even over who brought which nitpick up in the first place. Seriously, I just want to code and really I just don’t want to waste all my energy on these minor things.
  • I will remember next Spring to make sure I hire the Rent-A-Hubby guy to put my AC back in the window. Not only did my window break when I closed it after pulling the AC out, but I seem to have pulled every muscle in my body. My back had been doing much better but now I feel like the accident was just yesterday. :(
  • I bought a very small refrigerator to put under my desk at work. I’m keeping soda, yogurt and fruit in there at the moment. I’ve decided that this will save me money in the long run and possibly help me stop eating so much junk food by having the good food right within reach.
  • You don’t often see a vampire on a skate board or an astronaut with a pocket book walking down Congress St. Wish I’d taken my camera.

Happy Halloween!

    Wish I had a plot…
