Pet Peeve #1: Cell Phones in the Office

If you are going to have your cell phone in the office, particularly if you work in a cube-farm, please be curtious to your cube-neighbors and set it to vibrate or if you have to have a ring tone, please make it something professional and unlikely to disturb your co-workers. Also, keep the ring tone down low. For example, I don’t want to hear a midi of “The Star-Spangled Banner” or the entire “William Tell Overture” over the sound of my conference call or my noise-blocking iPod earphones. It’s bad enough that I have to hear everything from “The Mexican Hat Dance” to what the kids are calling rock these days while I’m running errands.
