Nose Screw Tip
Here’s my little nose piercing tip of the weekend: Do not play with the new piercing, even if you tell yourself you are just adjusting it to a less annoying positions. Trust me, when a fresh nose piercing comes out and you have to screw it back in yourself, it will be extremely painful and you will panic and it’s not as easy as you think it’ll be.
My nose is still tender from yesterday’s adventure.
By the way, if you see amber nose studs, please leave me a link to the website. I’d love to get one but I haven’t found any anywhere.

I was interested in getting my nose peirced and i have been doing a lot of reasearch about it, but i still don’t exactly know everything. I mean some people say that the way to peirce it is with a gun type thing like they use on your ears, and some are saying with a needle.Which is the correct way? and how much does it hurt. thank you-Katelyn

ok. i just got my nose pierced. i did play with it and when i cleaned it i’d slightly take it out so that i could put the cleaner in it. Tonight i tryed to clean it and the whole thing came out. It took about 20 minutes for me to figure out how the hell it goes back in! So i sat in the bathroom with a huge pearl earing in my nose (not fashinable… at all) To just keep it open. Then once i figured out how to put it back in, with alot of pain, and the inside of my nose is swollen.. mum showed me this site, which i am now going to have a look through. This happened 10 minutes ago. The pain… my tip? Do not play with it.. if it falls out… your screwed.

when i first got mine pierced about 8 weeks ago everyone told me it wouldn’t hurt. it was actually pretty painful for me but i guess everyone’s different. its more of a soreness than actual pain.. my nose felt really warm (if you know the feeling i’m trying to describe) and it throbbed for a few minutes afterwards. they also might pop a blood vessel (it happened for me) but the bleeding doesnt hurt at all. the major pain is hitting in for the first few weeks after getting it; i got a q-tip caught on it while i was cleaning it and the pain was almost worse than the piercing :-\. it hurts but the result is worth it lol.
my question is how do you actually take out a nose screw (i never really learned)? and i bought these things you bend to fit your nose but now that i’m at this point i’m not sure how to actually put them in? help please :-[

OK I’ll be honest. It’s the second most painful thing I did to myself on purpose — the first being LASIK.
But the pain is gone in like 1hour or so and I’m just extra sensitive to pain so maybe I’m not the one to ask.

My 13 yr. old daughter wants to get her nose pierced . I’m a little unsure and would like to investigate further . I have heard that some piercings cause a lot of scar tissue and tthat plastic surgeons often have to assist when difficulties arise with piercings that involve cartiledge . Have you heard this ??? What ARE some of the dangers involved with nose piercings ??

1st things 1st if your 13yr old wants her nosed pierced properly she’ll have to wait till she’s 18 to hav it done be a PROPER LICENSED piercer as they won’t pierce anone under 18 without ID. secondly it wont cause scar tissue sue to it being done with a very sharp needle (not a gun, like the ears). the only dangers with nose piercings is you not looking after them properly a gettin a nasty infection. Ive had mine for a while now and have had no problems what so ever, apart from tryin 2 get the stud back it. (takes a hell of a lot of practice) so i’d suggest 2 your daughter to wait until she can hav it done by a professional rather than someone who will pierce 13 yr olds just for the money!

If your daughter wants her nose pierced U will need to shop around a bit and check the piercers out. some reputable places will pierce your 13 year olds nose but you will have to sign a waiver before they will even consider it. Best bet is to talk to the people and build up a relationship so that you know you can trust your childs nose with this person. My 13 year old wanted hers done after I got mine done so I shopped around and went with the lady that pierced my nose since she seemed very reputable and trusting. We are both very pleased with the results. Good Luck.

My piercing did not urt so much. I would compare the pain more annoyin g than an actual pain. the piercing is done in 3 seconds. You may feel some stinging afterwards but only for about an hour. Follow the instructions of your piercer closely. In my opinion…Sea Salt works the best for the healing process. *oz of warm water and 1/8 tsp. of sea salt in a wide rim cup or bowl and soak your nose for atleast 10 mins a day. Sounds crazy but it really works and most importantly do not play with the piercing at all for 8 weeks aside from the general cleaning. Good Luck.

Hey
im 17 and ive been bugging my mom to get my nose peirced, as a tip for your 13 year old, she probably isn’t responsible enough to handle it yet. my nose got infected and i ended up getting a keloid above the piercing. Don’t freak its basically just a little lump that comes off by drying it out, anyways it’s a lot of work. I don’t regret mine but I say, tell her to wait till shes 16, if she still wants it then discuss it. My mom did that with my belly button and I’m so glad she did.

now you tell me this!I recently got my nose pierced, and softball season started a week after. Everyone was telling me that no jewelry is allowed, so I tried taking it out.And I was going to put it right back in, but now I can’t I have went one day and a night without it. The hole hasnt closed up yet because i won’t let it, I poked the back of an earring through the hole and it hasn’t closed up. Both of my parents, and I have tried putting it back in, and it is imposible! I have it in until I have to get to the part where the nose ring twists. Uhhh, it is so hard! it has the little loop on the end and the little loop on the end won’t curve into my nose piercing hole. well I read your article and I now know that you turn it clockwise, or counterclockwise, but either way it still won’t go in. so I guess I’m going to go have to go back to the dude’s shop who pierced it. and pay another 40 bucks. well i really like typing on my dads laptops keyboard so thats pretty much the only reason I’m telling you all this! well i was gonna tell you to write back but you kinda can’t so like bye!

So I just got my nose pierced yesterday and my nose stud turned around in my sleep and the ring is now visible on the inside. which direction should i turn it to make the bent part more hidden? It’s kinda swollen and hurts when i try to turn it. Should I wait untill it feels better to try turning it?

ok, i just wanted to let you guys know its really know that painful.
they clean it, clamp it with tongs, and stick a needle through it. it goes so fast you dont really feel the pain to bad. they clip one side of the needle, and bend the other up, and stick a stud on the other side. (i have a screw, and thats what they did with me. i just got it two days ago)
it throbs afterwards. mine stopped hearting the next day.
but i took a shower yesterday and snagged it! so be VERY careful with clothing and towels because it really sucks to snag it. i had to screw it back in and its okay now.

Hi, I’m thinking of getting my nose pierced and have just got a few general questions that i need to know more about. How long do you have to wait for till you can change your nose stud?? and when using foundation (make up) does it matter in the first few weeks if you get any foundation on/near nose stud? will it infect it??

Ok. I’ll tell you the upfront honest truth. I got mine done two days ago, and if you go to a reputable piercer, it doesn’t really hurt all that much. It is very quick, and it stings about as much as a bee sting or a shot. It hurt less than my navel. However, one word of advice: get a nose screw instead of a straight stud. My stud kept falling out and I had to go back today and have them change the jewelry, which hurt more than the initial piercing. So yeah…either a ring or a screw.
You can wear makeup, but you CANNOT get it near your piercing. It will infect it.

Right, nose piercing hardly hurts. You only feel the pain for a few minutes, just close your eyes and it will be over before you know it! I got to choose gun or needle and needle is said to have hurt less so I choose needle.
Watch though, I got one put in with a hoop under and the day I got it done it caught on a pillow and pulled out.
Go somewhere like Claires and get straight through ones, they are much better.

I got my nose done about 2-3 weeks ago- yesterday I was cleaning it and it got snagged on the cotton ball and came out! OUUUCHH! Not to mention it was a screw.. how does a twisty thing come out of a straight hole.. someone tell me! HA. I couldn’t get it back in, no matter what. So I resorted to the straight studs I bought at clairs, they are sterling silver. I figured a straight rod would be way easier. And it was. So after I traumatized my nose.. I noticed a little bump right underneath it.. I was like.. CRAP! So I’ve been doing sea salt soaks twice a day, and applying tea tree oil. Making sure to use anti.bac. soap &all that fun stuff. Wow, I was so scared. Hopefully this bump goes away..
