Oy. Web Programming Isn’t As Easy As It Looks.
Well, in the conversion and redesign of The Weekend Chef, I have had more than a few eye-openning, frustrating moments. There are a lot of bad habits I picked up early on in learning HTML which are now seriously frowned upon though when I was learning them, those bad habit were called “work arounds”.
I’m glad I took that CSS class and I’m gladd I found the HTML validation sites. Now I have to start work on the other two blogs.
Oy.
I do wish that the “nifty corners” technique had worked better on The Weekend Chef. They just aren’t as noticable on that page as they were in the examples in the article.
I do like the funky background I picked for it. I found a plethora of 70’s-inspired web-tiles at Psychedelix.com and plan to make some groovy 70’s-inspired WordPress themes with them at some point. Though it may be a while. This weekend I have got to clean house in preparation for my trip to D.C. next weekend. That means, no website design sucking me in all weekend. ![]()
