Keep Us Safe?

I am often surprised by the people who support Bush because they say he will keep us safe but then defend his destruction of world-wide alliances with powerful countries which were willing to standby and support us after 09/11/01. These are the same people who believe we are over in the Middle East fighting for “our” freedom and to bring freedom and liberty to those theocracies and dictatorships but also claim in another breath that they don’t give a crap what the rest of the world thinks about us. I’m thinking that those people who don’t think we should give a crap what the rest of the world thinks about us, shouldn’t be upset or surprised when we are attacked. I think that telling the rest of the world to fuck off and let us do whatever we want has made us not only less safe but made us more vulnerable and less able to ask for help from countries who have the actual military and intelligence recourses to be of any real help.
