I saw a stupid commercial on Nick@Nite the other night. It was something about how Nick@Nite could cure “Common Sense Deficiency Disorder”. Then I got to thinking the next day that if that really was a diagnosable mental illness, it would explain so much in the world today.

The following was sent to me by a friend.
“Night of Terror” on Nov. 15, 1917
A short history lesson on the privilege of voting… The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of “obstructing sidewalk traffic.”
They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head

OMG! John Kerry has been reminding me of someone for months and I just couldn’t place who he looked like. Someone on the Weight Watcher boards pointed out that he looks like Guy Smiley from the Muppets…and now it’s all so clear to me. He is Guy Smiley with John Kennedy’s voice…
I am so going to giggle every time I see him now.
But damned if I don’t love to hear him speak.
***On a related note, I missed The Daily Show last night with Kerry and I won’t be home to see the replay of it today at

So, I finally ordered myself a dehumidifier/humidifier combo for the new apartment. I needed the dehumidifier for the downstairs of the apartment for summer and the humidifier for the piano and other wood stuff for winter. So, I could have spent almost $200 on each or bought this one that did both for $300. The combo seemed logical but I had to special order it. It is coming via UPS.
UPS tried to deliver it Friday around noon but of course I wasn’t home. They won’t leave it at the apartment like they do everything else

OK So, my mom started on my case this weekend about how I needed to get out of the house and meet people and do stuff. I tried to explain that I have my art class on Wednesday nights, I am signed up for a writing class on Thursdays starting in a few weeks, I am going out to eat with some people from work next week, and I am joining WW meetings starting today. Her response?
“You can’t meet men at Weight Watchers.”
WTF?
Why would I want to meet men anywhere?
I mean, I’m

I have decided that it doesn’t matter what party or candidate you support whole-heartedly, once you have made that commitment and sign up to be an extreme believer for either side, the other side immediately becomes incomprehensible to you and all you can hear or read is “wah wah wah wah wah” mixed in with the occassional out-of-context blurb that supports your brainwashed theory that the other side is pure evil and must be annihilated or at least humiliated.
Just my random after lunch not so humble opinion.

Well, I have quickly learned that the tension is too thick and feelings are too strong for most people, Democrat or Republican, to be able to laugh at themselves or their candidates this election year. As much as I love Kerry, I can at least laugh at a good joke poking fun at either candidate. I admit, I do take some things about the election seriously, but I can still laugh.
I will admit here so people understand that I’m not just one of those AntiBushBots running around claiming Bush is the anti-Christ. I do

I’ve been semi-looking for another RPG PBeM to play in the last few months. My X-men RPG was the only one I’ve been in for quite a while after dropping some and closing one after much disappointment. So, I was clinging to it and of course, you all know the recent drama. The X-men game has revived itself and it rolling along very nicely. New mods, new players, exciting plots. Nice. I’m much more involved in the day to day than I used to be which is good for the game and probably for

G.I. Joe Is A Fake
By Dan Kois
Veterans group says military hero lied about his record; claims evil villains escaped his clutches during war against Cobra.
Aug. 14, 2004 | WASHINGTON — As G.I. Joe, the leader of America’s daring, highly trained special missions force, celebrates his 40th anniversary this summer, a group of veterans has aired television advertisements attacking his military record. The ads, purchased by G.I. Joe Veterans for Truth, accuse Joe of lying about his war record and letting villains escape throughout the 1985-86 war against Cobra, Destro and the forces of evil.
In one 60-second ad, veterans of the

George W. Bush’s Resume
Education (highlights):
With my daddy’s help, I got into exclusive Andover, where I was a mediocre student.
Was in the bottom 20 percent of students as a freshman at Yale, where I also joined the secret Skull and Bones society.
Applied to the University of Texas Law School and was rejected.
Past work experience:
Ran for congress and lost.
Served for a decade on the board of a company that financed several R-rated slasher B movies.

Kerry Unveils One-Point Plan For Better America
WICHITA, KS?Delivering the central speech of his 10-day “Solution For America” bus campaign tour Monday, Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry outlined his one-point plan for a better America: the removal of George W. Bush from the White House.
“If I am elected in November, no inner-city child will have to live in an America where George Bush is president,” Kerry said, addressing a packed Maize High School auditorium. “No senior citizen will lie awake at night, worrying about whether George Bush is still the chief executive of this country. And no American?regardless of

I kind of wish the whole election thing was over already so we could go on with our lives. However, my experience with the last election tells me that it won’t be over on Nov. 3rd, but will drag on and on and on.
I saw a statistic in Newsweek last week, I think, about how in the 1992 election at this time 66% of people were still undecided, but polsters working for Bush (probably from India) say that this year only 17% are undecided. I wonder if they’re counting all the Amish people Republicans have been registering to

STOP MAD COWBOY DISEASE–Kerry/Edwards in 2004

Since arriving here and “settling” into my new apartment, I’ve kind of dragged my feet about getting a couple of things done. For example, I’ve not finished unpacking my office, I’ve not re-arranged my kitchen after my mom unpacked, I’ve not taken my “diet” seriously, I’ve not hung up any of my wonderful art collection, and I’ve not bothered to get my license changed. Maybe the feeling that it’s all temporary has enabled the procrastination.
However, I don’t have that temporary thing to be my excuse any more. Yesterday I found out that I’ve been a permenant employee

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
– President George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004
How true.

Well, on Sunday the Bush administration suddenly went all panicky again and raised the terror alert to Orange in NYC, New Jersey, and DC, particularly the financial districts. They say they have received specific information regarding planned attacks on a number of buildings; their big boast is they know the where this time if not the when.
The timing is somewhat convenient as it comes days after the DNC and a small boost in the polls for Democratic candidates Kerry and Edwards. What I find most interesting is that the president sent his wife and at least one of

Well, I don’t have that weird feeling of unease anymore.
The truth of the matter is that I ate something on Saturday (probably lunchmeat) that didn’t agree with me. I started feeling a migraine late Saturday afternoon and thought nothing of it since I’m used to the more than occassional migraine. In fact, I thought it was the high humidity that triggered it.
Sunday morning, I woke up feeling worse. The migraine was much much worse. After a couple of hours, I got up and stumbled downstairs to take an Ultracet with some caffeine. I thought eating
