I can’t believe tomorrow is June already. This month seems to have slipped right by without too muc hooplah.
I really have been meaning to write and I really don’t have much of an excuse. I’ve spent the month working, dieting, shopping, orgainizing, unpacking, cleaning and purging. I have a whole closet full of stuff to take to Goodwill but I’m reluctant to take it until I’m done with the unpacking. I’m so lazy I just want to go the one time.
My goal is to have nothing in those carboard boxes except holiday

More horrors coming from the Middle East today as video feed from a website shows a non-military American being beheaded in retaliation for the mistreatment of prisoners in Iraq.
Someone on a message board I’m on had the nerve to claim that Americans would never do something so horrible! Of course, she was verbally attacked because most of us are certain that there are Americans who would do something like that — even to other Americans. That sort of nightmarish thing doesn’t just happen in other countries and movies.
But I guess the question is: When is all of this

If the price of gas goes up any more, I won’t be able to do anything but go to work. Well, I suppose stopping at the grocery on the way home would be o.k. but I’m going to have to do all my shopping online — tax free. That can’t be good for the economy. I mean, if I can’t go anywhere to buy anything, won’t that hurt the local businesses, the American businesses?
They said that gas has gone up 10¢ in the last two weeks, but I think it’s gone up more. And

I was examining the polls on CNN’s website today. I find it interesting that 50% of Americans still think it was worth it to go to Iraq and 47% say no. Usually polls aren’t that close either with only 3% not having an opinion.
Also to note, something like 62% don’t think Bush is doing a good job handling Iraq.
I remember a year ago, watching in horror as over a few months time the polls changed drastically from few people thinking we should go to war with Iraq to the majority thinking it was a grand idea. I

Today is “Day 3″ of no caffeine. Withdrawal is pretty nasty, but it’s not like I haven’t felt this crappy before.
I admit however that trying to go caffeine free and starting back on WW at the same time was probably not the best plan I’ve ever made.
Yesterday morning I had a horrible migraine (a 4 out of 5) complete with nausea. Today is better with a low-grade headache but I’m having a terrible time this afternoon staying awake. This has led to snacking and I’ve eaten all of the snacks I brought and have used most of

In the June 1992 issue of the Journal of Medical Ethics, a clinical psychologist proposed that happiness be classified as a psychiatric disorder, arguing that happy people suffer from impaired judgement that prevents them from acquiring a realistic understanding of their physical and social environment.

This whole thing with the Iraqi prisoners who were abused, humilated, and/or killed really disturbs me. Somewhere deep inside, I’ve always suspected this sort of behavior was being perpetuated by American Intelligence and Military, but like most Americans, I really wanted to believe that “we” were above that. After all, as a nation, we are supposed to be role models. We are protectors of the persecuted, liberators of the unfree. We are supposed to be all politically correct. We are supposed to be “better” than everyone else.
But, honestly, I see how much persecution goes on

I’ve been staring at this weird eLink/eWebIt/WebLink/whatever-Eclipsys-is-calling-it-this-week code for a couple of weeks now, trying to remind myself about how it all works. It doesn’t help that “they” kept my training manual. One thing that has been helpful is the Statement Guide I found online at the Eclipsys customer website — the documentation I was told by my oh-so-talented previous co-workers did not exist, documentation I might have found had my Director thought it was safe to give me a sign-on to the website (and Eclipsys kept insisting I should have a sign-on when I called to open

Well, Cingular did finally let me out of my contract, sort of. Basically, we cancelled the account last night and they are sending me a bill for $10/month left in the contract minus any credit on my account for previous payments.
Aparently, JB’s little brother has a “friend” who received a $700 bill from Cingular because the rate package she signed up with was no longer available at Cingular and they didn’t bother to notify her. As a sort of appology they took $100 off the bill, but the poor girl is a college student working in a coffee

I will never sign another 2 year contract with another freaking cel phone company.
Last November, when I was employed, I needed to upgrade my phone. Since my old contract had expired the sales lady insisted I sign up for a new contract when acquiring the new phone. It’s a two year contract with Cingular.
Of course, then I lost my job and was forced to move to Maine. Before I left New Orleans, I spoke with someone at Cingular who told me that since there is no local service here, they would let me
