I woke up again with a headache this morning. However, this time I woke up at 5am with a migraine so bad that I thought I was going to throw up and in fact I wished I would to get it over with. I took an ultracet sometime before 5:30am but by the time I drug myself out of bed at 6:30am, I was still feeling just as bad, if not worse. So around 7am, I took a Zomig — I haven’t had to take one of those in 3 months or so. However, the Zomig

I can’t believe something is actually cheeper up here. Rent is higher. Gasoline is higher. Heat is way higher.
My car insurance is more than half less and even my rental insurance went down by $9 a year!

I forgot to mention that a recruiter I spoke with several months ago recently called me on my cell phone. She had originally contacted me about the job in Alabama but I was already interviewing for that position. Anyway, apparently the position is still open and she had thought I was the best qualified fit for that position and wondered why I wasn’t there already…I told her that they had indeed made an offer and then recinded it and wouldn’t say why. She was surprised. Maybe that’ll make her think twice before sending in a

Well, somehow, all of the kitchen boxes have been unpacked and the items put somewhere. I still have a lot of organizing to do once everything else is also out of boxes.
My living room was arranged by my parents and somehow they made it all work pretty well. I won’t have to get rid of my coffee table and end tables any time soon — darn it. My mom and I are going to go buy curtains and curtain rods for all rooms but the office and kitchen (the kitchen got my pretty old ones and the

Really not a whole lot to report today.
My mother found the missing bowls; she’d already unpacked them to somewhere else. Still MIA are my alarm clock, shower radio, all but one telephone (which is o.k. at the moment since I don’t have service yet), and the portable t.v. that goes in the kitchen. Oh, there’s lots else that hasn’t been unpacked, but those are the things I’ve actively been looking for.
Last night after work, I went to the grocery and then helped cook and eat dinner. There was some puttering around in the kitchen as we

Not surprisingly I have had re-occuring nightmare themes in the last few months. The main theme is that I’m being fired, of course. Even as late as Friday night, the night before I officially moved into my new apartment, I was having dreams that I had lost this job before I even started. I know it’s weird since I’ve been here over two weeks now and all, but the mean nasty old company and then the place in Alabama really screwed me up, I think, more than I expected. I even woke up feeling really

JE, my parents and I unloaded the truck on Saturday. It took the four of us about 6 hours or so.
My mother has completely alienated my next door neighbor though — she went over and asked if he would help us move “one last thing”. Poor guy agreed but didn’t know that the one last thing was the piano until he got to the truck. He’ll probably never talk to me again.
So everything is in the house (and I have pictures but I have to wait until my laptop is connected to the internet to post them

So, here’s the big list of dietary triggers for headaches/migraines. These are the things you should eliminate from your diet because they could be triggering head pain.
Caffiene
- Coffee, tea, iced tea and cola. Even decaf coffee and tea (which contain additional chemical triggers) may be a problem. Also, beware of coffee substitutes. Try caffeine-free herb tea (without citrus and other trigger flavors).
Chocolate
- White chocolate (no cocoa) is okay; carob is questionable.
Monosodium Glutamate
- Chinese (and other) restaurant food; soups and bouillons; Accent and seasoned salt; flavored, salty snacks; croutons and bread crumbs; gravies; ready-to-eat meals; cheap buffets; processed meats; veggie

After I get settled into my new apartment, I really have to rethink this work schedule of 8:30am to 5pm. Around 4 or 4:30pm, I start getting antsy to go home though I don’t have anything particularly exciting to do once I get there.
***Today being Earth Day, there’s a festival for about half a block of Congress St. in Portland today. I walked over to have a look-see. It wasn’t nearly as exciting as I’d hoped it would be. The Green Party was there and so was The League of Pissed-Off Voters, which was interesting

“Angel” was pretty good last night considering the rest of 5th season has been somewhat sucky, or rather the second half has. It tied up one of the loose ends that I really felt should be tied up before the show ended — Connor and Sahnjin (sp?). It was nice to see Connor as a happy, well-adjusted kid as opposed to the psychopath that Holtz, Cordy and Jasmine made him. Plus, it was nice to see some sort of forgiveness in Connor or acceptance once he got back his memory that Angel is his real father.

Both of my parents said that I really owe BJ. They said it multiple times. Since they were there and I wasn’t, I guess I need to really take their word for it, though I was already feeling quite appreciative that he was helping my parents and JE load the truck. Having moved myself before, I know I have a lot of crap and, well, despite some episodes of purging in the last 9 months, I had about 4 years to settle into that appartment and collect more crap. In fact, in the last 6 or

I woke up this morning at 5am with a massive headache/migraine. One of the worst in a while. It felt like there was aching matter pressing against my swollen forehead and wrapped around my cranium like one of those braid crowns. It felt like every eye twitch, every breath I took was an agonizing lifetime. Eventually, I got up and got my ice pack from the freezer. Putting that across my forehead didn’t work. Neither did the sips of cold caffiene. I was miserable.
I finally forced myself out of bed around 10 to

Well, I ended up not going to see Carla and Connie. The reviews in the papers and all over haven’t been pretty for the modern day Victor/Victoria rip-off. Even at matinee prices it would have been $6 to see since the movie theaters up here don’t appear to take my MovieWatchers.com card, which at least got me a free popcorn occassionally or 50¢ off of a soda. So, I just couldn’t justify spending the money to go see a movie that I wasn’t sure was going to be good since I’ve not heard anything from people

I need to find some sort of clubs to join or something. I’ve not really been able to find anything in the papers, free and not. I’d really like to find a club that goes to the movies 2 - 3 times a month and maybe out to eat after/before. I’d also like to find a club that does the same thing with theatre. I love movies and plays but they’re most fun when you have someone to share the experience.
I did go over to the Keep one day (and I need to stop

I took my car to the shop to get fixed on Thursday. The shop came highly recommended by MJ at work (who also loaned me a sauce pan and frying pan to use until my stuff gets here because she doesn’t cook
). I dropped the car off shortly after 7:30 a.m. in South Portland and they were nice enough to drive me over to work in Portland. Very friendly and laid back. When I hadn’t heard from them by 1:30 p.m., I gave them a call. The guy who answered, the one

I don’t know why but this morning around 11am, I became can’t-keep-my-eyes-open sleepy. Admittedly looking at documentation is pretty brain-numbing and Needy kept me up most of the night with his OCD and I got up an hour early to take my car to the shop, but really I shouldn’t have been sitting there doing the head-bob thing at my desk. :doze:
Now I just can’t seem to wake up. And it doesn’t help that two days ago someone decided to turn the air-conditioning on in here and it blows right on my freaking desk and it’s friggin’ cold

It’s not a new habit per se but it’s an annoying old habit that seems to have resurfaced in the last few weeks. Needy has restarted obsessing about the litter pan, usually around 4 or 5 a.m. He goes to the litter pan and possibly uses it and then begins scratching the litter, the area around the litterbox, etc. He does this for five or ten minutes and then wanders around the living area (hotel room, suite, apartment) meowing somewhat loudly and usually walks all over me before repeating the process. The scratching is particularly annoying

I looked at an apartment yesterday which was run-down — had dirty walls and floors, stickers on the windows and fridge, missing faceplates for electrical-type stuff, holes in the hardwood floors, but was somewhat roomy and might have gotten the piano into it. It was for $950 a month including hot water and had a working fireplace, but interestingly it was in a ” bad” neighborhood. O.K. last week when I asked co-workers where the bad areas of town were, they said there weren’t really. Now I find out that there are in fact, bad areas.

I don’t know why but I feel completely, physically exhausted. Thursday I went to sleep at 9pm — it would have been 8:30, but “Will & Grace” was new.
Last night, I turned on the tv and reclined in the hotel bed to watch some baseball movie on some channel or other at 7pm and the next thing I knew it was 9pm and I’d not watched the movie, though I’d seen it before. I turned off the tv and went back to sleep, only to be woken up around 5am by Needy who was wandering the

Well, I saw three apartments yesterday. The first two would have been acceptable but once again there was the stair-piano issue. The first might actually be ok with the piano and I did almost convince my dad we should at least hire movers to move the piano from the truck to the apartment. Still, none of them were perfect and the third was somewhat small. The first one was about 1400 square feet but wasn’t decorated in my taste and it did have the odd thing about it here and there — like two pipes sticking
